Recycling Alternative

In March Recycling Alternative invited our Place-Based Field School to tour their innovative recycling facilitated, located in the heart of Vancouver’s urban industrial district, and neighbours to Emily Carr University.

Recycling Alternative (RA) is a city-serving sustainable waste management company located in the False Creek Flats industrial zone, offering a range of services including sustainable waste management programs, waste collection, logistics, materials processing, tracking and diversion, waste audits, advocacy, and education to Industrial, Commercial, and Institutional (ICI) clients. Their networked operations offer an example of what a Green Industrial Innovation District™ might look like within Vancouver’s urban core, serving the city through sustainable waste management practices and partnering with an extensive network of organizations to strengthen capacity to process waste materials within city limits.
